Deeper Spaces was conceived in 2018 for the Faena Art Contest as a site-specific proposal for Sala Molinos at Faena Art Center in Buenos Aires. Created by Alejandro Rodríguez, it was designed as a timed, single-visitor sequence — a short, immersive journey through memory, perception, and transformation. The work fused ritual choreography, original sound, projection mapping, ceremonial masks, body scanning, and virtual reality into one continuous choreographic arc.
The visitor's path unfolded through six distinct chambers. A waiting hall gave way to a cleansing room, followed by a taiko drum passage and a mask observatory. The journey culminated in a VR chamber and, finally, a mirrored encounter with an AI-generated reflection. Upon entry, the visitor removed their shoes and was quietly body-scanned; that data resurfaced later inside a sarcophagus-like VR scene, woven into the AI's mirrored response.
