Planetario Malargüe brings together two linked interventions developed for the planetarium in Malargüe, Mendoza. The first was a live fulldome visual performance created in 2014 for the ENDO ambient/drone crew. Invited by ENDO, Alejandro Rodríguez / Dogrush developed a VJ set conceived for the dome as an immersive projection surface, using Cienfuegos to compose generative visuals in dialogue with the music of Pablo Ruiz Avantú and Raniero Saravia. Rather than treating the dome as a conventional screen, the performance worked with its full hemisphere as a spatial instrument, producing an immersive audiovisual environment for a seated audience.
Between 2016 and 2017, Dogrush redesigned the venue's projection and control system after sustained contact with the planetarium staff. In collaboration with Guillermo Defis (GUI), a new version of Cienfuegos was developed in vvvv, incorporating video capture and multiple presentation layouts. The upgrade enabled a single-monitor workflow spanning educational presentations to fulldome playback, and remained operational from 2017 onward. The project bridges performance and infrastructure: a public live event followed by a quieter but lasting technical intervention, where the continuity between artistic use and system design became its defining trait.
